FAQs

FREE MEMBERSHIP... CHEAP TICKETS... WHAT’S THE CATCH?

No catch. You are never obligated to purchase tickets as a HIPTIX member. Roundabout recognizes the increasing average price of a theatre ticket in New York City. HIPTIX is an audience development program designed to fit the budget of young professionals, enabling theatregoers age 18-35 to see high-quality Broadway and off-Broadway productions at affordable prices.

WHERE IN THE THEATRE WILL MY SEATS BE LOCATED?

There are no set seating arrangements. You will be seated in selected seating for HIPTIX members which will vary according to production and availability. To ensure an orchestra seat, join our HIPTIX Gold program!

HOW DO I JOIN WITH MY FRIENDS?

Every HIPTIX member must join individually by filling out a membership form with his or her contact information, including a unique email address. If your friends are not currently members, encourage them to join so that you won't have to gloat about the great shows you're seeing and the money you're saving. You can also link your accounts for easier ordering. Click on "LINKING ACCOUNTS" for details or call Ticket Services at (212) 719-1300.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY TICKETS?

Phone reservations (212-719-1300) require a major credit card (American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover) as payment. If you prefer to pay with cash or check, please purchase your tickets directly from the Box Office.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH SHOWS AND DATES ARE AVAILABLE?

2-3 weeks before each production becomes available, you will receive an email with details on the show and procedures for ordering tickets. Our communication to you will be via email so it is important to let us know if your address information changes. You can notify us of any changes by emailing hiptix@roundabouttheatre.org or calling Ticket Services at (212) 719-1300.

WHAT IF I TURN 36 DURING THE SEASON?

You must be age 18-35 on December 31, 2007 to qualify for a HIPTIX membership.

CAN I RESERVE TICKETS FOR OTHER HIPTIX MEMBERS?

Yes, if your accounts are linked together. For more information, click on "LINKING ACCOUNTS".

HOW DO I UPDATE MY CONTACT INFORMATION OR CHANGE MY PREFERENCES ON MY HIPTIX MEMBERSHIP?

Whenever you receive a HIPTIX email, you will have the option to update your preferences. Just click the appropriate tab at the bottom of the email, make your changes and you're all set. You can also send an email to hiptix@roundabouttheatre.org at any time with your updated information.

HOW DO I RENEW MY HIPTIX MEMBERSHIP?

You are automatically renewed into HIPTIX until you surpass the age limit. Every year you will receive instructions via email on how to update your contact information and preferences. If you have not been receiving HIPTIX emails, please email hiptix@roundabouttheatre.org or call Ticket Services at (212) 719-1300 so that we can get you back on track.

WHAT IF I’M NOT 18-35 YEARS OLD?

HIPTIX is part of an audience development program to promote theatre-going habits among young adults, who are currently an under-represented group in American theatres. If you do not fit into the age requirements of HIPTIX, you can check out the other ACCESS ROUNDABOUT programs by visiting www.roundabouttheatre.org or clicking "ACCESS" at the left). If you are over the age of 35, you may want to consider subscriber to Roundabout and joining one of the many Theatre-PLUS programs such as the Wine Series or the Social Series. Visit www.roundabouttheatre.org (or click on "Roundabout" at the left) for details about these programs.
